War of the Factions is a global, persistent, and cross-platform event that brings to life the ongoing war between For Honor’s 3 factions: the [[Knights]], the [[Vikings]], and the [[Samurai]]. The faction you pledged allegiance to determines who you'll fight for in the faction war but doesn't stop you from playing any available hero. The faction war encompasses all multiplayer activities and bot activities and consists of deploying War Assets earned during play onto contested territories. War of the Factions is separated into Seasons lasting 10 weeks which are divided into Rounds lasting 2 weeks. Territory updates on the world map happen every two hours. For each territory update the faction with the most assets on a specific territory controls it. Gaining or losing territories moves your faction's front. Fronts determine which map you will play on. Maps will have visible changes depending on the controlling faction. At the end of a [[Round]] players are given a reward depending on the rank of their faction in that Round. At the end of a [[Season]] everyone will get a rewards based on the rank of their faction. After each Season the faction war is reset and will resume after an [[Off-Season]] period.

War of the Factions is a global, persistent, and cross-platform event that brings to life the ongoing war between For Honor’s 3 factions: the Knights, the Vikings, and the Samurai.
